Alzheimer's Disease

Alzheimer's Disease is the most common cause of dementia and effects up to 10% of the population over the age of 65, and 20% of persons over 80. As we grow older, subtle changes in our reasoning occur. These are not related to any disease process. However, in some people these changes are extremely disruptive to daily function, and may signify early Alzheimer's. All individuals over the age of 65 should have a routine neurology evaluation by a primary care provider.
