Congratulations To Our 2020 EMA Provider Spotlight of the Quarter!

Meet Dr. Eric Snyder, EMA’s Director Spotlight of the Quarter!  Dr. Snyder works as the Medical Director at Providence Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Emergency Department and also serves as our Chief Risk Officer. He has been part of the EMA family since 2011.

Med School: The Chicago Medical School
Residency: UCLA-Olive View

When asked what a typical day in a director’s shoes looks like, Dr. Snyder starts with reviewing the prior day’s operational metrics. He attends various meetings with hospital staff serving as a liaison between the hospital and EMA, reviews his doctors’ cases, ensures that processes are in place, and new policies are being rolled out. His goal is to ensure that the ED is a place he would proudly bring his own family for care!

If you have ever met Dr. Snyder, you know he is a frequent visitor of the gym. His three tips to healthy living are diet, exercise, and adequate rest; he is a big fan of power naps. The best advice he has received about maintaining a healthy diet is to avoid high-calorie foods and to try to make your food at home when you can. Eric’s ideal workout is a 35-minute interval run on the treadmill, a 45-minute weight-lifting program, followed by a high protein meal replacement immediately after the workout.

On his days off, Eric keeps himself busy with his wife and kids. You can find him coaching his kids sports teams and is very active in Encino Little League program, where he serves as the Commissioner and Medical Director. When he has time for a vacation, he goes to his family's cabin in Hailey, Idaho, where he and his family ski, fly-fish, hike, and mountain bike. He loves spending time outdoors with his family!
