Congratulations To Our EMA Director Spotlight of the Quarter!

Our EMA Director of the Quarter is Dr. Marco Hernandez , M.D.!

🩺 Ponce Health Sciences University – Medical School
🥼 USC+LAC Medical Center – Residency

Dr. Marco Hernandez is the EMA Medical Director at Sherman Oaks Hospital, Encino Hospital Medical Center, and Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center. He has been practicing Emergency Medicine since 2002, and was inspired to become a doctor by his father, Dr. Felix Hernandez: “… throughout my education, advanced sciences were always the courses that seemed to come naturally. In college, my father allowed me to observe autopsies and evaluate pathology slides. It was then he told me, ‘You understand this without my help. You should try to be a doctor.’ I knew his opinion was not given freely, so it was then I realized I could be worthy of entering medicine.” Dr. Hernandez chose emergency medicine because he valued the faster paced environment, and it allowed him to use a variety of procedures and a breadth of knowledge across all specialties. His favorite part of working with EMA is its collaborative nature, which allows administrators, directors, doctors, and nurses to review cases and data together and ensure the highest quality of service to patients.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Hernandez loves to spend time with his wife Heather and daughter Hailey. His hobbies include playing golf, tennis, hiking, and skiing.
