Our EMA Provider Spotlight of the Quarter is Siobhan Newman, MD!Med School: Chicago Medical School
Residency: UMKC School of Medicine
Dr. Siobhan Newman has been with EMA for the past 12 years and is board-certified in Emergency Medicine and Family Medicine. She has been a full-time EM physician for about 25 years. Her interests include genetics and molecular medicine, which has led her to broaden her knowledge to include Advanced Certifications in Bio-Identical Hormone Therapy and Peptide Therapy. Additionally, Dr. Newman is currently a mastermind physician under the Seeds Scientific Research and Performance physician group.
Dr. Newman enjoys helping patients through direct patient care and the fast pace that EM work offers. She says she encounters a diversity of populations, patients, and types of diseases. "My most memorable patient was a beautiful elderly, French speaking Jewish women, who showed me her Nazi concentration camp tattoo. She then shared with me her experience of being rescued by the French in WWII. She told me she preferred speaking the French language to honor her rescuers" Dr. Newman recalls. Her favorite part of her job is problem-solving with the professionals she works with at the ED and working together to help patients receive the best medical care they can.
Outside of work, Dr. Newman spends time with her husband, children, and family. She loves cooking gourmet, plant-based food, maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle, hiking through the National Parks, and studying the efficiency of the cell and intelligent design.
