Our AHP Spotlight of the Quarter is Marsii DeGrasse, NP!Med School: San Diego State University
Residency: Walden University
Marsii DeGrasse was a bedside RN for almost 25 years and became a NP in 2016 to open up new doors for herself. In addition to working in the Emergency Department, she also spends time in the ICU and PACU. Nursing is her passion and she has spent a lot of time training new nurses. Marsii’s favorite part of her job is getting to ease her patients’ suffering. Communication is her strong suit and she enjoys educating patients and their families regarding their diagnoses and treatment plan.
Marsii has been married to her amazing husband Tim for 26 years and they have two daughters: Shea (22) and Lou (17). Next year, Marsii and Tim will be empty nesters as Shea graduates from college and Lou begins college. Pre-pandemic, Marsii loved to go to new restaurants, attend live music venues and plays, and sing karaoke! These days, she enjoys cooking, tending to her vegetable garden, finishing puzzles, and doing paint-by-numbers. If social distancing continues, Marsii says she plans to learn how to sew (so she can make her pants bigger!)
