Our EMA Provider Spotlight of the Quarter is Lauren Donnelly, DO!Med School: Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine
Residency: Drexel/Hahnemann University
Dr. Lauren Donnelly has been with EMA for six years and currently resides in Encinitas, CA with her family of five. Dr. Donnelly is an East Coast native, having spent the first 25 years of her life in her home state of New Jersey through her undergraduate, medical school and residency.
She loves the variety, pace, and personalities that Emergency Medicine brings to the table. Her decision to become a doctor was rooted in her interests in health and wellness, which she has pursued outside of her career by staying active in sports her entire life. Besides playing Division I lacrosse in college all four years, Dr. Donnelly also trained for Olympic distance triathlons in medical school. Recalling on her triathlon training, she says she "met a guy in a bookstore who signed up for the triathlon last minute to try to impress me. I finished in the top of my age group and he finished....in the ER. He spent a week in the hospital with severe muscle damage, acute kidney failure and ischemic colitis. I married him anyway!" Now, Dr. Donnelly enjoys playing with her three kids, staying active, and enjoying wine!
